By now, you’ve probably seen clips of Cuban outfielder Yasmany Tomas destroying a home run last year at the World Baseball Classic. In a new Baseball America highlight video, the 6-foot-1, 230-pound Tomas shows off his 70 raw power on the 20-80 scale with multiple deep shots over the fence to his pull side, including a pretty sweet home run celebration. The video also shows several clips of him hitting—all of the Serie Nacional offensive clips of Tomas are from this past 2013-14 season in Cuba—his above-average arm strength, home-to-first speed (from July 2013 in Durham, N.C. against the the United States’ college national team) and Tomas stealing second base, with sliding technique that could use a little work. Tomas’ colorful style is also on full display.
